FAMILIES

The Autism Society has A Box Full of Hope!
The ASOC has an ASD Awareness Kit that anyone may borrow for up to two weeks free of charge.
This Box Full of Hope is an 18-gallon tote containing a variety of hands-on materials and intervention strategies that you can use at home or at school. Families of newly diagnosed children will find the explanations easy to understand. Families can read the age appropriate explanations at their own pace to a spouse, other children, grandparents and other family members in the privacy of their home.
Everyone can try out all of the interesting items in the box. Differences in communication, sensory integration, social and learning styles and common educational strategies are explained in very easy to follow lectures. Advocacy materials, adult books and multiple children’s storybooks will be found among the fidgets, weight vests, social stories and communication aids. Bring this box home and explore all of these new ideas before your next school conference or doctor’s appointment.
