2016 Walk 4 Autism

On Sunday,April 24, 2016

we welcome you to take part in our

Walk 4 Autism inside the Somerset Collection in Troy

Join us rain or shine for a walk in the mall! While you raise funds, you will also be raising awareness.

Since the Autism Society Oakland County began in 1985, the incidence of autism diagnosis has risen dramatically.  We need to focus on ensuring that all individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) have access to much needed services and supports, because behind every number is someone who needs help today.

Autism is for a lifetime.  As we see the children turn into adults we understand the need to support and prepare them for an enviable life.  We also know the need to raise awareness within our community about not only autism but about the amazing people who are sometimes your family members, often your neighbors and friends.  The hope is that they will also be valued employees and productive members of our community.

The Walk 4 Autism efforts exist to support those impacted by autism right here in our community.  To help you prepare, we have created a What to Expect overview of the walk which should address many questions and help make the day more relaxing.  #walk4autismoakland
